Last week I promised to post images of 3 pieces th Last week I promised to post images of 3 pieces that I think are pretty special. Well, here goes…

Satchel Paige is one of my favorite stories! What I would have given to have seen him pitch! The stories about him are the stuff of legend. The experiences that were lost because of segregated baseball….

I am able to find one of these Gateway cachets every year or so. This was a good year, I was able to locate and purchase two! I posted the other Satchel in March and my buddy of 30+ years, Colonel Dick in Virginia saw the post and purchased it within the first couple hours. Dick has one of the nicest “Man Caves” that I have ever seen (although maybe too much Yankee stuff!) and I am proud to have several of my pieces on his walls.
This Satchel Paige issue has been sold out for decades. The issue was limited to just 1,000.
I framed this piece with the elegant suede boards.
***This piece sells for $950.00.

Although not a Dodgers fan, Vin Scully was probably my favorite broadcaster of all time. Vinny was a poet and a painter with his spoken word. His stories provided me with hundreds of enjoyable nights while driving from base to base…
This is an autographed Bull’s Eye cachet, produced to commemorate the 45th anniversary of Dodger Stadium. This cachet is limited in production to just 500, and is the first one that I have ever owned.
Vin Scully autographs are few and far between…
This would be an outstanding addition to any baseball fan’s collection, but especially Los Angeles Dodger fan.
*** This piece sells for $750.00

Lastly, this guy named Steph Curry….
I have in my life spent more money on an autographed, but it was always a dead baseball icon, or a limited edition lithograph. I thought that this was an outstanding photograph with a strong bold autograph, and well, I personally like Steph Curry.
This is a 16x20 photograph, double matted with suede boards to 23”x23.25”.
This would be an outstanding addition to any basketball collectors wall!
***This piece sells for $1,250.00

I will be at Edwards AFB November 3-17 and then will finish the year up at Travis AFB November 28-December 22…..

Call or text me at 805.748.3482 to purchase.

I have been happy and proud to have carried these I have been happy and proud to have carried these banners for over a decade. Made of wool and flannel, they are a quality item. Like many manufactures in the sports memorabilia industry they have faced a plethora of challenges in recent years - China tariffs followed by the Covid-19 shutdowns.
Well, long story short, I received an email this week informing me that their licensing contract has not been renewed and that they are “liquidating” their inventory and calling it done after 20 years.

So, just a heads up. When existing inventories is gone, they are gone.

I carry most baseball and football teams, about half the basketball teams and just a few hockey teams.
The banners sell for $39.95 each.

As always, all my very best to you.
Stay happy and healthy!

The Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig Gateway cachets are t The Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig Gateway cachets are tough issues to obtain, both being the kind of players that people purchase for their collections and hold on to. Icons of the game, long since passed away, both are obviously unsigned.
I am not 100% sure how many of these were issued. I have been told that 3,000 was the issue, but I can’t find anything to confirm that.
Both of these framed pieces are matted to 11.75” x 19.25”, and each of the two sell for $174.95.

The “Baby Bull”, Orlando Cepeda is a great name, albeit often overlooked by San Francisco Giants fans. This cachet was produced to commemorate his hall of fame induction. This issue, limited to just 500 is now 24 years old.
* This piece sells for $249.95

I bet you have never seen this cachet! I say that because there were only 50 of them produced and because I was able to purchase 38 of the 50. I have always liked the Bill Mazeroski story, and after having met him a couple times like it even more. How improbable that the weak hitting 8 time gold glove winner would walk off the powerhouse New York Yankees in the 1960 World Series? As they say, you just can’t make this kinda stuff up…
A really nice piece of historical significance…
* This piece sells for $249.95

“Scarecrow”, Fred Biletnikoff was such a huge part of Oakland Raiders history. Biletnikoff players for the Raiders for 14 seasons, was the Super Bowl XI MVP and inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1988. This 35 year old issue was limited in production to just 750, and would be a wonderful addition to the collection of any Raiders fan.
* This piece sells for $259.95

The late Maury Wills was a 7x all star, 2x gold glove winner, 6x national league stolen base leader and the national league MVP in 1962. Sadly, he is somehow an often forgotten man….
This cachet, issued in 1987 was produced to commemorate the 25 anniversary of Dodger Stadium, and limited to an issue of 1,000.
* This piece sells for $274.95

After almost 25 years I am in the process of a web page refresh. The new look, although not yet complete will feature a photo gallery and my show schedule for the balance of 2023.

Some new autographed military pieces…. The late Some new autographed military pieces….

The late Frank Murray was one of only six pilots to fly the CIA’s A-12, the predecessor to the legendary SR-71 Blackbird.
This is an 11’x14” aerial photograph taken from the A-12 on February 19, 1968 - a look / see over North Korea where the USS Pueblo and her crew were being held hostage.
This piece is double matted to outside dimensions of about 15”x16”.
A great historical conversation piece!
* This piece sells for $269.95

This piece was produced to commemorate for World War II Flying Aces, Steve Pisanos, Bud Anderson, Avnet Aust and Frank McCauley.
This 11”x14” photograph, autographed by all four Aces, is double matted to a little over 14”x23”.
* This piece sells for $359.95.

Another CIA aerial photograph, this of the Osama bin Laden compound in Abbottabad. This 5”x7” photograph is autographed by Admiral William McRaven, the architect of “Operation Neptune’s Spear”.
Matted with suede boards, the outside dimensions measure a bit under 9”x15”.
* This piece sells for $224.95

George Caron was the tail gunner on the Angola Gay, the Boing B-29 Superfortress bomber that dropped the first atomic bomb on the city of Hiroshima on August 6, 1945.
This 8”x10” is double matted with suede boards to an outside dimension of 11”x17”.
* This piece sells for $224.95

Hugh Ferguson was the co-pilot of “The Great Artiste”, the instrument support plane used for the bombing of Nagasaki on August 9, 1945.

This long stretch of being home has allowed me the This long stretch of being home has allowed me the time to go though files and binders of things that I have had for decades - things that I haven’t had the time to mat and frame because they were more time consuming custom pieces.

Here are six autographed Perez Steele cards, all from my favorite category, “DBI”, or Dead Baseball Icons…

Dick Perez is the the official artist of the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown. He has produced several sets of commemorate cards.
The autographed Hank Aaron, Stan Musial and Ernie Banks are from the “Celebration” series, a set of 44 players produced in 1989 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Hall of Fame. The edition was limited to 10,000 sets produced.
Each of these pieces are framed with the elegant suede boards and measure approx. 12” x 19”.
* Hank Aaron sells for $349.95.
* Stan Musial sells for $324.95
* Ernie Banks sells for $299.95.

The Al Kaline, Duke Snider and Harmon Killebrew are from the Perez Steele Greatest Moment series. This issue was limited to 5,000.

San Francisco 49ers and Giants…. In preparation San Francisco 49ers and Giants….
In preparation for my Travis AFB sales event I have added some new autographed 49er and Giants to my inventory.

This is the first time that I have autographed Brock Purdy photographs. I have had countless requests over the last year, but no can do until the guy does an autograph signing. That finally done, I was able to purchased four signed 16” x 20” photographs. I wouldn’t expect to have them for long.
This piece is double matted to 23” x 23.25”.
*This piece sells for $550.00.
Call or text to purchase.

The Jerry Rice is a special photograph that is called the “Spotlight Series”. They leave the athlete in color while dropping the color from the background which creates a pretty dramatic visual effect.
This photograph is an 11” x 14”, and is double matted to outside dimensions of 17” x 18.75”.
*This piece sells for $374.95

Another first time autograph for my inventory…
The Mike Yaz photo is another in the “Spotlight Series”. It is the same size and shape as the above mentioned Jerry Rice.
*This piece sells for $289.95

Another Mike Yaz, this in the regular 8” x 10” size. This photograph is double matted with outside dimensions of 11” x 17”.
A smaller piece with less framing, this piece sells for $199.95
